Brazen Belles! Film Screening: Part One
August 20, 2020 | 7:30 pm-8:30 pm | Virtual
Just in time for the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which ensures women’s right to vote in the United States, this episode is about the women behind the suffrage movement in South Carolina, including those who worked for the right to vote on the national level. Tennessee voted in favor of ratification on August 18, 1920, becoming the 36th and final state needed to ratify the amendment; it was formally adopted as the 19th Amendment to the Constitution on August 26th, which we celebrate as Women’s Equality Day.
Producer Audrey Muck will introduce the movie, and afterwards she’ll share what’s yet to come in Episodes 2 and 3, and answer your questions.
